Frequently Asked Questions at Leah S Designs Bridal
The perfect amount of time is 6-9 months before your event date. This gives you plenty of time to find your dream dress, place your order, and allow alterations to begin—so everything is ready stress-free for your big day! Of course if you have less time you are welcome to purchase off the rack!
Of course you can! We have a great range of dresses waiting for you to be purchased off the rack. Any of our dresses can be purchased straight off the rack, as long as we have your size available. Your welcome to take your dress home with you the same day.
We have a fabulous alterations team right here in our store- Ginger Pins Alterations. They have the magic touch! All alterations are an additional fee which we can discuss with you at your appointment.
We can do slight customisation to our own designs. Such as can change the colour to suit you aesthetic. Design changes like adding a split or removing a split or pockets can be added to a satin dress, for an additional charge.
We carry an impressive bridal collection of different styles in all sizes. There are many different silhouettes, styles, and sizes in-store to try on, ranging from size 6 to 28.
Our bridal showroom has the entire range of Plus Size Perfection sizes 16 to 34, and the only Melbourne bridal shop stocking the entire Leah S Designs bridal collection sizes 6 to size 16.
We recommend booking ahead so a consultant can be dedicated just to you. Walk-ins are welcome, but availability isn’t guaranteed.
Appointments run for about an hour, giving you time to try on a variety of styles—from fitted mermaids and A-lines to ballgowns and boho looks. Our consultants will guide you with helpful advice to make the process fun and stress-free.
For Saturdays, we suggest bringing no more than 2–3 guests, as too many opinions can make choosing harder. If you’d like to bring more, we’ll happily arrange a weekday appointment.
To place an order we require a 30% deposit of the dress price. We offer a four month lay-by period in which you can make regular payments. Bridesmaids dresses need to be fully paid for at the time of ordering.
We do recommend booking a weekday appointment where possible, and especially for Saturdays as it is our busiest day of the week. Walk-ins are always welcome but a stylist may not be available to assist you in trying on. We will endeavour to organise the next available appointment with one of our consultants so you can enjoy the total experience. Please note that appointments will be given priority.
The average price of gowns in our Melbourne showroom ranges between $1300.00 for a soft, simple style to $3,500 for an elaborate ballgown design. Debutante gowns range from $770.00-$1300.00.
You don’t need to wait for a sale we have discounted gowns all year round. Because we design and manufacture a ready-made collection, our gowns are very reasonable priced year-round.
On a tight budget, we have a sale room with nothing $999.00!! However, these are non-order, so it’s first in best dressed.
