The Leah S Story.

Leah S Designs is living proof that wedding dress dreams really can come true.

Once upon a time, a girl lived in a barn in the little town of Pakenham. By day, she worked tirelessly at her keyboard in an office, always half-asleep and dreaming of designing dresses. By night, she served drinks, her mind filled with visions of beautiful gowns.

Leah imagined all styles of dresses—long, flowing designs, and whimsical boho styles. But above all, she dreamed of creating the ultimate wedding dress.

There was a lot of time spent staring longingly into the windows of Melbourne wedding dress shops, magazines (like tiktok but in paper form) checking out European runways, and hoping her day would come.

One day, an imp appeared and said, “I can make all your dreams come true.” He was from a land called the Bendigo Bank. All he wanted in return was the girl’s soul (and a moderate interest rate).

With his help—and a touch of borrowed fairy dust—Leah S Designs was born in 2001.

Starting small, Pakenham was the perfect place to begin. After a few years of honing skills (and outgrowing the space), it quickly became clear that Pakenham was a little too small.

It was time to spread our wings and explore more of Melbourne. We needed room for both our workrooms and a showroom, and Lonsdale Street in Dandenong fit the brief perfectly. So we packed up, moved in, and stayed put for seven wonderful years.

Eventually, we did what we do best—leveled up once more—and settled into our current home at 3/167 Princes Highway, Hallam, where we are today.
