The Leah S Story
Leah S Designs is living proof that wedding dress dreams really can come true.
Once upon a time, a girl lived in a barn in the little town of Pakenham. By day, she worked tirelessly at her keyboard in an office, always half-asleep and dreaming of designing dresses. By night, she served drinks, her mind filled with visions of beautiful gowns.
Leah imagined all styles of dresses—long, flowing designs, regal ball gowns, and whimsical boho styles. But above all, she dreamed of creating the ultimate wedding dress: long, lacey, and adorned with intricate beading.
There was a lot of time spent staring longingly into the windows of Melbourne wedding dress shops, checking out European runways, and hoping her day would come.
One day, an imp appeared and said, “I can make all your dreams come true.” He was from a land called the Bendigo Bank. All he wanted in return was the girl’s soul (and a moderate interest rate).
With his help—and a touch of borrowed fairy dust—Leah S Designs was born in 2001.
Starting small, Pakenham was the ideal place to begin. After a few years of honing her skills, Pakenham became too small, so it was time to explore other Melbourne suburbs. We needed a space to house our workrooms and showroom. Lonsdale Street in Dandenong was perfect, so we packed up and moved, then after 7 years, movined again and settled in our current location a 167 Princes highway in Hallam.

I can hardly believe twenty years have passed. It hasn’t always been easy, but my passion for the dresses and of course my customers has made the long hours joyful rather than a chore. I’m certain the next 20 years for Leah S will fly by also. In the mean time Ginger pins has moved in to the building, Amy started at Leah S in the alterations department then branched out to her business with in our building. In the past 5 years I created Hello Lovers Australia jewellery as an addition to Leah S, I felt the jewellery needed to match the dress to complete a look as a whole.

Myself and my team have proven time and again that excellent style, quality, and service don’t have to cost the earth. Leah S Designs now , and designers who share a passion for creating beautiful wedding dresses.
I am incredibly grateful to the wonderful people who have helped along the way, and I hope that the 1000’s of Victorian brides who have supported us over the years will continue to spread the word.
