5 ways to find calm before your wedding day

5 Ways to find Calm before Your Wedding Day

As you prepare to walk down the aisle and into the rest of your life, you may find your mind occupied with thoughts of the dress, the hair, and the décor. But this is the most important day of your life so far, and it’s natural to feel a little edgy. Whether you’re struggling with pre-wedding jitters, or just want a chance to relax before your big day, these five steps can be crucial for your well-being.

Spend Time With Loved Ones

Sure, you might not want to see your honey before your walk down the aisle, but that doesn’t mean you should be isolated on the biggest day of your life. Carve out some time for brunch with your girls or a coffee date with your mom. Not only will it take your mind off your nerves; you’ll also make a memory that can last a lifetime.

Meditate

Research shows that just 20 minutes spent meditating can lower blood pressure, improve circulation, and ease stress. Take a few quiet moments to think positive thoughts and hone in on a focal point; the act of meditation truly can help you prepare for the day or to put in to practice if you are having sleepless nights.

Eat a Healthy Meals

You’re going to be rushed and excited, which means you might forget to eat—and no one wants to faint while walking down the aisle! Load up on fruits, veggies, and lean proteins, because you’re going to need all the energy you can get.

Get a Massage

You’ll be spending lots of time on your feet all day, and that can lead to back pain, exhaustion, and headaches. Head these miserable feelings off at the pass by starting your day off with a massage. You’ll feel more relaxed, and better equipped to take on what’s sure to be one of the longest and shortest days you’ll ever have.

Make Time for Yourself

Everyone deserves a few moments to them selves. Don’t think that your wedding day means you have to give up privacy. Take five to 10 minutes to yourself, and don’t be afraid to lock other people out! You deserve some time to compose your thoughts and focus on what really matters—the marriage that follows the wedding.
